How to Punch Harder

Are you getting bullied in school? Are you an amateur mma fighter that dreams of one day fighting in the UFC? Are you a boxer who looking to step your game up? Are you just a tough guy who wants to be ready for the next bar brawl? Hi, I'm Samson Phoenix and I'm here to talk to you today about how to punch harder.

To understand how to punch hard you've got to under stand the punch. A punch starts at your feet and then works its way through the legs, the butt, the hips, the abs the lats, shoulders, arms, and fists. It's like a chain. So when you throw a punch your whole body is involved.

Now that we know the whole body is like a chain when we throw a punch. The next thing we got to understand is size, weight, density, and speed. The bigger, heavier, harder something is and the faster it is moving, the more destructive it will be when it hit something. Think of bullets the smaller they are the less damage they cause but the larger caliber bullets will destroy buildings (I'm talking about the 2500 pounders that are shot from the canon of a battleship at 2700 feet per second. Pure power baby!!!)

So how do we get more size, weight, density and speed. Well for size and weight you are going to have to hit the gym brother and don't give me that I'm trying to make weight crap. Be a man and step up and fight bigger guys it will make you tougher. Now remember the body is a chain and you know what they say a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. So don't have any weak links and work the entire body.

Density is how hard something is. You will get some density from lifting weights but for the most part it will have to be developed by hitting things over and over again like a heavy bag. Get yourself a heavy bag and work it over really good every day. Here's a fun fact: The Muay Tai Masters of the past use to kick trees thousands of times a day with each leg. That made the bones in there legs so dense that when they would kick there opponents the would break there opponents legs. So hit a heavy bag daily to increase your bone density.

Next thing is speed. Speed kills. Developing speed is very important to having a powerful punch. Now there is a myth out there that lifting weights and getting bigger slows you down. But that is just not true. A reason why a lot of the bigger guys seem to punch slower is because they rely on the size and haven't really had to develop greasy fast speed but if you look at guys like Muhammed Ali, Mike Tyson, and Lennox Lewis you can see that big guys can punch very fast. So how do you get lightning fast punches. It's called practice! You have to practice and you have to practice fast! Do not ever throw slow punches.Shadow boxing is one of the best ways to get you punching faster. Now when you are shadow boxing make sure your punches are fast as possible. Always throw punches like you mean it. Gradually the body gets use to throwing fast punches. Over time your punches will get so fast your opponent won't be able to see them.

Last thing to work on is form but in order for you to have good form I am going to have to show you in a video. That video will be up shortly.
